Question: What is different about the coatings that are already in use and the coatings you are engineering?

We are trying to develop metal coatings which can be used on fiber-reinforced epoxy (wind turbine blades) to stop erosion of the blades, nobody does this commercially yet. Most of our research has been in getting industry to stop using harmful chrome coatings by developing coatings which do not use chrome but still meet the tough requirements of aerospace.
