I am a Greek EngD student living in Oxford.
Mr Dimitrios Fantanas, EngD student in Micro- and Nano-materials and Technologies at the University of Surrey, working at M-Solv Ltd. as a Research Engineer. The project is up scaling spray deposition techniques, of transparent conductors. He received his MSc in Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronic devices from the University of Surrey, where he was involved in the development of plasmonic transparent electrodes, using metal grids and laser reduced graphene oxide. Finally, during his BEng degree in Electronic Engineering, he was involved in the investigation of the energy transfer between polymer materials and carbon nanotubes.
I work with spray deposited novel transparent conductive materials for touch sensors and other applications.
My Typical Day: I spend most of my day between my office and various labs in my sponsor company in Oxford or the University of Surrey.
What I'd do with the money
I would like to create an event at my sponsor company where students from various schools come and have a look at what we do and try and get them excited about research.
What or who inspired you to follow your career?
My father and uncle, they are both engineers and I was always looking up to them.
What's your favourite food?
